When you first plug in the unit, it may take a few minutes to self-extract its operating system and get itself ready for use – this only happens the first time.
Once the network has been configured as outlined above you are now ready to plug in your first Vivi Receiver.
- Connect an HDMI cable from your display device to Vivi.
- Connect an Ethernet cable from the box to your network.
- Connect the power adapter (12V 1.5A DC) to the Vivi Receiver – do this last.
Make sure both ends of the network cable are plugged in, and that the corresponding network port is patched at the switch. (Yes, it has happened!)
At this point you should see a red light on the box, and after a few start up steps, the Vivi logo and a room name will appear on the display. The display may flicker for a few seconds while the device installs and activates.
When the device has installed and is ready to go you should see something like this:
If you see a screen like this:
This Vivi unit needs to activate itself.
If you see this message on start-up, chances are you have not configured your network – refer to 1. Network Configuration and ensure the relevant firewall and port changes have been made.
